The politics of bike lanes

The politics of bike lanes

We all know that in Windsor, there isn’t much political will to increase funding for bike lanes.

But what happens to a politician that does push for cycling infrastructure?

An editorial in the Globe & Mail suggests that the mayor of Vancouver may pay the price for bringing in segregated bike lanes. Interestingly, the article itself seems to be the starting point for a campaign against the mayor – one that that the article admits currently doesn’t exist. However, Vancouver’s municipal elections are only a few months away, and there is criticism of the infrastructure funding on the radio call in shows.

Perhaps one day, Windsor will fund enough cycling infrastructure that people will complain that they are spending too much?
