Bike Summit 2016

We’re excited to announce the 2016 Bike Summit, a full-day conference taking place at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law on Monday, May 30, 2016. Click to see the agenda and to register.

The conference will be a day of inspiring speakers from across the county, the province, Montreal and Detroit. Our focus will be on “partnering to create a more bicycle friendly Windsor Essex” as we explore strategies for making our roads safer for local and visiting cyclists – including cycling data hacking with Toronto Cycling Think & Do Tank and Windsor Hackforge.

Our keynote addresses will be from Jean-François Pronovost, Vice President, Development and Public Affairs Velo Quebec and Dave Meslin, Writer, Artist, Community Organizer and co-founder of Spacing Magazine. We’ll showcase local cycling resources with discussions on emerging trends in cycling for healthy communities and economically vibrant neighbourhoods.

Because everybody loves a bike ride, on Sunday, May 29, we’re going for a Community Slow Ride and then kicking back with some beers and snacks at the Walkerville Brewery. Jean-François Pronovost from Vélo Québec will be our keynote speaker discussing how they created la route verte that is attracting cyclists from around the world.

Registration for the Community Ride includes a fully escorted slow ride; keynote speaker and snacks at Walkerville Brewery.
Registration for the Bike Summit includes a healthy breakfast, healthy lunch and two breaks with snacks, tea and coffee and access to a full day of speakers and presentations.

We’ll be updating our agenda regularly leading up to the event as we confirm speakers and activities. Check in here frequently to view our updated program and speakers.
