Winter Wheels is Back!

Winter Wheels has now closed for 2023-24.

It’s year three for our Winter Wheels program that provides 25 aspiring cold-weather riders with equipment and support to cycle through the winter. Program participants receive a free set of studded tires and six months of access to the Bike Kitchen’s Do-It-Yourself Shop to prepare and maintain their bike for winter riding. Program activities include a launch party and workshops on how to dress for winter riding, winter riding skills and how to maintain your bike through sleet and snow. We’re planning our first Winter Lights Glow Ride in December, and Snow Riders group rides will be scheduled periodically through the winter.

In return, program participants commit to getting out on their bike at least once a week throughout the winter and to share their experience to help encourage others to ride in winter and to increase the visibility of winter bike riders across the region.

Want to join our riders this year?  Application period extended to November 12! Participants selected for the program will be notified by November 14. Apply on line and start riding this winter!
