I joined 25 enthusiastic cyclists and BikeTrain organizers Justin Lafontaine and Peter Lipscombe on the Windsor launch this June. Over a warm sunny weekend, we cycled 200kms through Essex County on rail trails and scenic quiet roads past cottages and wind turbines, through small towns and farmland.
Point Pelee National Park where migratory birds and butterflies refuel before heading south and the wineries of Essex County overlooking Lake Erie were spectacular. But peddling in the company of fellow cycling advocates with time to share stories and become friends made the ride so much sweeter.
Hopefully this article gets more people using the Bike Train, and brings more Bike Tourists down our way!
