One of the conditions that Toronto needed to meet to get BIXI was to reach 1000 members. They have now accomplished that goal, which means they are one step closer to bringing BIXI to Toronto!
For those that haven’t heard about BIXI before, it is a bicycle sharing system that was started in Montreal in 2009. It has since spread to Australia, England, and the United States. We may see further expansion in Ontario, in Ottawa and possibly Kitchener-Waterloo.
If it works out in those cities, maybe some day we will see a bicycle-share program coming to Windsor.
