Trails – a green option for travelling by bike

Bike Windsor Essex has long advocated for improvements in cycling infrastructure to improve cyclists’ safety as they ride to school, to work and to run errands.  While Windsor has been slow to provide safe, connected, on-road facilities, we do have a number of trails that provide the cycling commuter with a more green, relaxed and shaded riding experience.

Over the coming months we’ll be searching out some of the lesser known trails to provide you with green connections to explore for your ride.

In the Devonshire Heights area, cyclists can travel exclusively on trails through parks and wooded areas to destinations from the EC Row Expressway to Cabana/Division Road.

Three trails in the Devonshire Heights area.

The following 3 videos offer virtual rides of these trails.  If they’re new to you, we encourage you to get on your bike and ride them yourself!

We’d love to hear about your favourite trails as well as suggestions for improving or connecting our bike trails better.
