BUMP funding 2012-2015

After presentations from Bike Friendly Windsor and the Windsor Bicycling Committee at Monday’s city council meeting, a motion was passed to put a placeholder value of $200,000 into the budget for the next few years. The city typically spends this amount, as recommended in the Bicycle Use Master Plan (BUMP), but there were some concerns within the local cycling community that there was a reason that this money had not been budgeted in years 2-5 of the 5 year Capital Budget. While $200,000 does not seem to be enough to fund the projects according to the proposed timeline in BUMP, it is certainly better than having no funding allocated.
