Due to ongoing construction on Erie Street, this September’s Tour di Via Italia might be held downtown instead.
Race organizers have requested that the event take place downtown in 2011, with the expectation that it will be held back on Erie Street in 2012. City council will discuss the issue on Monday August 8th.
The proposed downtown route would start at Chatham & Ouellette, and travel on University, Dougall, Ferry, Pitt, and Chatham before returning to the finish line.
