Thanks to the support of the Windsor Essex community, the Essex to Amherstburg Greenway Trail has moved on to the semi-finals in the Aviva Community Challenge. The Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) has submitted a proposal to develop a 22 km multi-use trail between Essex and Amherstburg, which would connect to the Chrysler Greenway. Funding from Aviva would amount to $150,000 out of the $750,000 necessary to develop the trail.
“We’ll need to harness every vote possible to compete in this final round. It’s been tremendous to see the support for this project from the community at large,” said ERCA’s general manager Richard Wyma, “we’ll need to harness every vote possible to compete in this final round.”
