The U of W Student Environmental Coalition is planning a community ride for July 4th. They chose Independence Day to emphasize the need to decrease our dependence on fossil fuels! And what better way to do that, than to ride your bike?
The ride kicks off at Boardwalk Bikes & Ice Cream (the blue building along the riverfront trail, in front of the casino) at 10am on Sunday, July 4th. The group will ride to Ojibway Park, stopping at various point along the way to highlight certain environmental initiatives in Windsor. Riders will be treated to breakfast once they get to Ojibway.
For those of you passionate about the environment, but without a bike, Boardwalk Bikes & Ice Cream are generously donating a few bikes as loaners for the event. In order to borrow a bike, please email organizer Kelly Campbell at campbelk@uwindsor.ca ASAP, as these are available on a first come, first serve basis.
