Quebec cyclists warned that headphones are illegal while riding

CBC News is reporting that police in Montreal were warning cyclists that riding while wearing headphones or earbuds is illegal.

Quebec is the only Canadian jurisdiction where it is illegal to ride with headphones, although cycling advocates in many areas suggest against it as it can decrease awareness of surrounding traffic.

It is also illegal to wear headphones while riding in Flordia and Rhode Island, and cyclists must keep one ear uncovered in California, Maryland and Delaware.
