Veer film screening – June 12

To celebrate Bike to Work Week (June 7th – 12th) as well as Bike Month (June), Bike Friendly Windsor is presenting a screening of Veer. Veer is a documentary that offers a peek into bicycle culture by profiling five people whose lives are tied to cycling. Through their stories, the film explores the culture of bicycling that is growing in major cities and which has come to include concepts of social activism, community-building and the arts.

Veer premiered at the Victoria Film Festival, won Best Documentary at the Calgary Underground Film Festival, and was nominated for Best Documentary at the San Joaquin International Film Festival.

The screening will be held on June 12th at 9 pm at Milk Coffee Bar (68 University Avenue West). Admission is a suggested donation of $5. Seating is limited, so show up early! Chanoso’s Restaurant will be offering a prix fix menu for those interested in dinner before the movie, as well as two for one appetizers during Bike to Work Week for customers who ride their bikes to the restaurant. After dinner, it is only a short hop over to Milk for the movie!

  1. Today’s Windsor Star (June 9th) listed this as being at Chanoso’s, in the Buddha Room.

    Which is correct?

  2. The film was originally supposed to be shown at Chanoso’s, but we had to move it to Milk. The film screening is at Milk, June 12th, at 9pm.
